The Evolution of Nike CTR360 Football Boots

The first Nike CTR360 football boot was built for midfielders. More specifically, the boot was built for inventive midfielders. And even more specifically, the boot was built for inventive midfielders like Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard debuted the boots in 2009.

By 2010, Nike had refined the CTR360 into a world-elite boot – literally; several players in the South Africa World Cup wore a pair of Elite CTR360s, made with a lightweight carbon fibre outsole.

Today, you’re looking at a range of cutting-edge CTR360 boots – engineered to perfection since 2009, tested in the world’s biggest football competitions and worn by some of the most talented feet in the game.

Here, you can choose from the whole family of modern CTR360s – including the Maestri, Trequartista and Libretto models.

The Science behind the Nike CTR360 Boot

Enhanced ball control.

The Nike CTR360 Maestri III that you can see on this page is made from an upgraded version of the Kanga-Lite leather used in the original. This material is lighter, thinner and tougher – giving you a truer contact with the ball in every touch, with no cost in durability.

A step ahead.

The boot’s outsole has been remodelled to provide you with a sharper turn. And the studs are fixed in such a way to help you gain serious traction in each step – with minimum time spent ‘in the ground’.

Pass magnet.

Nike’s CTR360 control pad allows you to collect a variety of passes on your instep. The newer generation of boots feature a series of rubberised strips arched across the inside of your foot, helping you to suck-in the ball with your first touch.

All-weather maestro.

During the manufacturing process, Nike’s engineers apply the brand’s patented All Conditions Control treatment to the CTR360. This allows you to connect with the ball in the same way, no matter what weather you’re playing in.

The ACC technology was developed after consulting midfielders like Iniesta, about the effects of wet weather on the ball.
