In the spring of 1910, supporters of Aston Villa breathed a sigh of relief. Ten long years they had waited to see the League Championship return to the home of the then biggest, most successful and famous football club in the world. Little did they dream it would be another 71 years before they could celebrate title number seven.
Following on from another round of bloody board-room battles, against the backdrop of some of the best players in the club's post-War history leaving, in the face of a doubting and dismissive media, and with a young and inexperienced squad, fourteen players wrote themselves into Villa legend.
